Over the last year I’ve found these yellow anti-glare glasses to be invaluable. I use them in daylight as well as at night, they’re especially good in dull light, rain and mist. OK, I’m in England so that’s pretty much all the time, really. If you are recovering from eye surgery or have a cataract then I can highly recommend them.

These polarising sunglasses are rather good too, although they don’t get nearly as much use. 😉

The yellow night vision glasses are proving to be quite good. Still haven’t tried them in heavy rain or fog though.

Meanwhile, I spoke to my optician about new prescription glasses. They said it wasn’t worth spending the money until I’ve had the cataract fixed.

Acting on recommendations from similarly afflicted people on the interwebs, I’ve bought myself a pair of anti-glare specs, These ones fit over my normal prescription glasses. The idea is that they reduce glare when driving at night and, from the short term test I’ve given them so far, they seem to be doing a good job. They reduce the glare from oncoming headlights, brake lights and street lamps. I’m told they also help in daylight under foggy conditions or heavy rain but I haven’t tested that yet.

The only drawback is that they are somewhat on the large side, fortunately I will mainly be wearing them at night, in the car.

So hopefully few people will see that I look like a huge Bee. 🙂
